TOUR ITINERARY:
Day 1: Ha Giang City – Quan Ba – Yen Minh (140 km)
8:00 AM Enjoy a delicious breakfast and head to Thon Tha for a scenic 3 km hike.
Start your journey to Bac Sum Pass, the steepest and most challenging slope of Ha Giang. Admire the smooth and elegant curves of the road, like a silk ribbon dancing between four majestic rocky terraces.
Admire the stunning scenery and stop for a coffee break at Heaven Gate, where you can climb a tower and see the panoramic view of Tam Son Town and the Twin Mountains with their legendary fairy’s bosom shape.
As you drive through the cypress forest, you will see the Golden Cypress, a unique and rare plant. It belongs to a genus that has only one species and is found nowhere else in the world.
11:00 AM Have lunch and take a rest at Yen Minh.
Reach Tham Ma Pass, a historical site where horses were tested for their strength and endurance in the old days.
Drive along the Nine-Turn Pass, a thrilling and scenic road that twists and turns along the steep valleys. Stop for photos and enjoy the view of the flat valley surrounded by limestone karsts at this favorite lookout.
Take a short detour to Pho Bang, a market town near the Chinese border.
Enjoy a relaxing break at Sa Phin Moon Surface, a unique piece of mountain which had huge crevices and from a distance it resembled the surface of the moon.
Visit H’Mong King’s Palace – the residence of Vuong’s family. The building is a fascinating blend of Chinese and French colonial architecture, with intricate carvings and ornate decorations that are sure to impress visitors.
Continue to the Lung Cu Flag Tower, the northernmost point of Vietnam and a symbol of national pride. Admire the view of the giant rocks and the national flag flying over Dragon Mountain, surrounded by magnificent forests.
5:00 PM Arrive at Long Co Tran homestay, a charming place where you can experience the culture and hospitality of the LoLo ethnic group.
7:00 PM Have a family dinner and show off your singing skills with karaoke.
Day 2: Dong Van Old Quarter Town – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Nho Que River – Meo Vac Town
7:00 AM Breakfast. Explore the historic Dong Van Old Quarter Town, a stunning landscape of karst formations and a unique geological feature in Vietnam.
Visit Dong Van Ethnic Market (on Sunday Morning) to experience the local culture and cuisine. You will see different ethnic groups from nearby hamlets and villages, dressed in colorful clothing and carrying baskets of various goods, such as vegetables, fruits, chicken, and birds, or driving buffaloes, cows, etc.
Travel by bike to Ma Pi Leng Pass, the King of Passes in Vietnam. Stop at the pit stop to admire the scenery and take photos. You will also trek Ma Pi Leng Sky Path for 3km and climb up to the top of a rocky mountain to see the best views on the path.
The road to the summit is a thrilling and picturesque ride with sharp and blind curves, hairpin switchbacks, and sheer drops along the entire route. It feels like a scene from a fairytale and is often called “Vietnam’s Great Wall”. The 20km long climb will inspire you with its breathtaking beauty. At the top of the pass, there is a stone stele that records the marks of the construction process.
Continue your journey through the massive green mountains and admire the outstanding views of nature and rice paddies. This is where you will feel the beauty and tranquility of Ha Giang.
12:00 PM Enjoy lunch and rest.
Enjoy a boat ride on the Nho Que River and marvel at the Tu San Chasm, the deepest canyon in South Asia.
4:00 PM Spend the night at Meo Vac Town in the cozy Little Yen homestay.
Day 3: Meo Vac – Khuoi Khon Village (Bao Lac)
7:30 AM Enjoy your breakfast. Experience the local culture at Meo Vac market (open on Sundays).You’ll find a wide variety of goods at the market, including fresh produce, traditional clothing, and handmade crafts.
Travel to Bao Lac on a peaceful road with no tourist crowds. Visit Khau Vai and hike for 5km on the karst fields, enjoying the scenic views of the valleys below.
11:00 AM Savor your lunch.
Ride bamboo ferry to Niem Tong and Ly Bon. Enjoy the scenic road and river views on your way to Bao Lac. Stop at some picturesque spots and take photos of the mountains.
4:00 PM Check into homestay in Bao Lac homestay in Cao Bang.
Hike around the village of Khuoi Khon community-based tourism village, where maintains many unique cultural identities of the Lo Lo ethnic minority group. At the community house, bronze drums, traditional customs, wooden toys and working tools of the Lo Lo people are on display, helping visitors learn more about the cultural identity of the ethnic minority group.
Day 4: Bao Lac – Ban Gioc Waterfall – Nguom Ngao Cave
7:30 AM Enjoy your breakfast.
Travel to Ban Gioc Waterfall, the fourth largest cross-border waterfall in the world. The waterfall is surrounded by stunning karst mountains and lush greenery, making it a popular tourist destination in the region.
Visit Nguom Ngao Cave, a natural wonder with impressive stalactites and stalagmites. This cave is a limestone one containing many coral and crinoid fossils. It used to be part of an ancient sea that existed about 400 million years ago.
Spend the night at May Linh Homestay in Khuoi Ky village.
Day 5: Ban Gioc – Cao Bang City
7:30 AM Rise and enjoy breakfast.
Travel to Ngoc Con Village to experience the beauty of clouds, mountains, rivers and fields in this serene and picturesque place. The village is home to several ethnic minority communities, including the Tay, Nung, and Hmong people. Visitors can interact with the locals and learn about their customs and traditions, such as weaving and embroidery.
11:00 AM Savor your lunch. Ride your bike to Tra Linh that has stunning natural landscapes that are untouched and unspoiled by human intervention. It is also part of the tourist route “Experience indigenous culture in wonderland” in the Non Nuoc Cao Bang Global Geopark, a UNESCO-recognized site.
Day 6: Cao Bang – Lam Binh (Tuyen Quang)
7:30 AM Enjoy your breakfast. Travel to Lam Binh.
11:00 AM Savor your lunch.
Enjoy the beautiful natural scenery of this area, surrounded by 99 majestic Thuong Lam mountains. This is a gift from nature to be in this place. You will feel wonderful as you breathe in the cool, green air and explore the stunning views. You can also take a boat or a kayak on the
lake and listen to the sound of nature.
5:00 PM Check in at Tai Ngao Homestay in Lam Binh, a comfortable and friendly place.
DAY 7: Lam Binh (Tuyen Quang) – Ha Giang City
7:30 AM Enjoy breakfast.
Visit some villages in Lam Binh and take a boat trip on Na Hang Lake for 30 minutes. The peaceful and picturesque view of the lake may leave a lasting impression on first-time visitors. The smooth water surface reflects the blue sky and the surrounding mountains, creating a serene atmosphere.
Return to the homestay and head to Bac Quang. On the way, you will see some beautiful waterfalls and rice fields. You will also meet many Dzao, Tay and Nung people who live a simple life without modern technology.

4:00 PM Return to Lila Inn. You can choose between two options for your night stay:
