We are LILA, a group of local hearts and hands rooted in Ha Giang. We’re not a corporation; we’re people who grew up here, love this land, and want to share it with honesty and soul.

The Journey of Lila

The Beginning

2016 - 2018

Lila started as one of the first three tourism businesses in Ha Giang, offering motorbike rentals and a hostel service. In those early days, we mainly helped travelers find their way, sharing local tips with self-riders and slowly building our first tour experiences.

The Pause & Reflection

2019 - 2022

When Covid hit, tourism came to a standstill. Instead of stopping, Liam, our CEO, traveled across Vietnam to learn from fellow tour operators, gathering knowledge and experience that he later refined the strategy to shape Lila’s next chapter. This quiet period became the foundation for our upcoming journey.

Rebranding & Rising Stronger

2022 - Now

After reopening, we rebuilt Lila as a licensed inbound tour operator. Seeing safety risks, over-tourism, and local impacts in Ha Giang, we chose a different path-guided by three values: small groups, safety first, and off-the-beaten-path travel. Today, we create stable jobs for 40 local easy riders, host around 450 travelers per month, and remain a trusted local leader.

Born and raised in Dong Tien, a remote village in Ha Giang Province, Liem grew up witnessing poverty, limited education, and labor exploitation in his community. Those early realities shaped one goal: to create fair, dignified jobs for his community. After graduating from university, Liem returned home to build something meaningful in the mountains he loves. In 2016, he founded Lila Inn & Tours, a locally run hostel and travel business connecting international travelers with the authentic beauty of Ha Giang through experiences led by locals. Today, through hands-on leadership and a strong focus on safety and responsibility, Liem has grown Lila Inn into a trusted local brand, inspring young people in Ha Giang that they don’t have to leave home to build a future.

Ngoc is a dedicated advocate for ethical and sustainable travel entrepreneurship. She studied Sustainable Tourism Management in Austria and brings six years of combined experience in the tourism industry and community development. This background gives her a strong, practical understanding of how responsible tourism growth can empower local communities. Motivated by her passion for sustainability and her love for Ha Giang’s natural beauty, Ngoc joined Lila Inn & Tours in 2023 as a Development Manager. Working closely with local colleagues, she co-creates adventurous journeys that invite travelers to explore untouched landscapes while connecting meaningfully with the region’s diverse ethnic cultures. Ngoc’s long-term mission is to build an educational ecosystem in Ha Giang that provides practical tourism training for local motorbike riders and community members, aiming to equip locals with the skills and confidence to participate sustainably in the tourism economy.

Nhu comes from a customer service background and fell in love with Ha Giang’s mountains and culture from her very first visit. As a dedicated tour consultant, she spends hours carefully answering every question about the Ha Giang Loop, helping travelers plan their journeys, and making sure every detail is thoughtfully taken care of. With deep knowledge of Ha Giang’s culture, villages, and hidden gems, Nhu stays closely connected with travelers before, during, and even after the tour to ensure every experience is smooth, meaningful, and memorable. She combines her genuine kindness with a strong sense of responsibility, always working with care and heart. Known for her bright smile and friendly energy, Nhu loves connecting with people and is always happy to chat - whether it’s about local culture, travel stories, or tips to make each journey truly special.

With eight years of experience in operations management for multinational corporations, she leads the design and delivery of high-quality Ha Giang experiences. Her work is defined by strong systems, clear processes, and close attention to detail from safety and logistics to the thoughtful touches that elevate each journey. Her connection to Ha Giang began as a traveler. From the first visit, the landscapes, people, and untamed beauty of the mountains left a lasting impression. What began as admiration quickly became a sense of purpose. That first trip inspired her to contribute meaningfully, joining a team that shares deep respect for the land and a commitment to creating authentic, responsible travel experiences.

Her journey with Lila began with a deep passion for exploring local life and discovering the richness of indigenous cultures. Although she's from central Vietnam and spent many years in the south, joining Lila has become more than just a job, it’s an opportunity to help share the magnificent Ha Giang Loop and its authentic culture with both Vietnamese and international travelers, while nurturing her own love for this country. Professionally, she hold a Master’s degree in International Management, Marketing & Entrepreneurship from Germany and bring over five years of experience in marketing, communications, and branding across the healthcare, education, and social sectors. Looking ahead, she hopes to work closely with the Lila team to strengthen our brand, position Lila as a high-quality local tour operator, and contribute to the long-term mission of developing a sustainable social community in Ha Giang.
